Landscapes from Scotland

I headed north for school half term and spent a week in Argyll & Bute in a remote cottage nestled in the valley of Glendaruel hoping to get a few landscape images. The weather was not bad considering and I think we had more sun than if I had stayed at home but I ended up not doing as much photography as I’d hoped. The bluebells were spectacular and I photographed a few bird species too but more of that over at wildscenes.com as and when I update it.  Here’s a couple of montages for now and then it’s back to the grindstone with a really heavy week of shoots with a couple of full day commercial shoots and two weddings not to mention editing, demos and tenders to get out!

Treasurer’s House Wedding sneek peek

Yesterday’s wedding in a very wild, wet and windy York really put the pressure on me to deliver the images but its an ill wind that blows nobody any good and the heavy rain presented us with a photoshoot that we would not otherwise have done! I am now heading to Scotland for some landscape photography, so you’re going to have to wait for my return for the full post, but here are a couple of images of Alan & Lucy at The Tresurer’s House, York :¬)

Pre-wedding shoot: Jody & Christian

I first met Christian, who works for a Leeds based design agency,  when he commissioned me to shoot the Christmas lights in various shopping malls up and down the land for MK Illuminations. Now that he’s getting married he kindly thought about me for his wedding photos too :¬) Christian and Jody are getting married next month at Gawber church and then moving on to Brooklands Hotel, Barnsley for their reception. We met up at Newmillerdam today for a pre-wedding meeting so that I could get all the details for the big day and also to give us an opportunity to have a bit of a pre-wedding shoot to give the couple a chance to see what it’s like to be the centre of attention. The leafy woods made a great backdrop to the shoot and we had a great time.

Ripley Castle Wedding: Joanne & Vineesh

Joanne & Vineesh were married a couple of weeks ago on the exotic island of Mauritius so today’s event at Ripley was just a big party for those that didn’t make it to the wedding. The party started late in the day and we were there to capture a mix of formals and candids of the event, friends and family as well as some shots of Jo and Vineesh. The shoot of Jo and Vineesh was cut short slightly by the onset of rain and news that the wedding cake had not arrived! To make matters worse, the M62 was closed in both directions which caused delays in guests arriving too. We had intended to do the lake shots at dusk but timings slipped and heavy rain came, so we never managed to get lakeside but a great time was still had by all. Here are a few images from the day :¬)

Wakefield portfolio photographer: Dave

Dave came over from Scunthorpe this evening for a his first ever portfolio shoot after finding me on the web. Dave is wanting to have a go at fitness modelling and of course, he needs a good set of image to send off to agencies and magazines, so he decided to put his nerves aside and have a go at standing in front of the camera. We shot in this evening and, due to time constraints, were limited to working in the studio which I think is always difficult for any first time model, as standing on an large infinity curve and coming up with the moves is pretty daunting. However, my shoots are always really laid back and fun and Dave soon got into the swing of things. We shot a few different styles from casual to fitness and I think in the end we got some great images to show to editors and agencies. Here are just a few that I’ve picked out for the blog, Enjoy ladies :¬)
