Wakefield Glamour Photographer: Bexi

Bexi drove over from Bolton this evening for a glamour shoot but due to various problems, turned up quite a bit late for the shoot giving us only an hour or so to come up with the goods! However, I worked her hard and we managed to shoot several sets on various backgrounds and got some great images for her portfolio. Bear in mind the summer evening light shots at the French doors were taken at 9:30pm when it was virtually dark – it’s all done with studio lighting :¬)

Wakefield commercial photographer: York University

Hanson Bricks of London have again kindly commissioned me to shoot one of their major projects that they are looking to enter into the national building awards competition. I’ve had it on the back burner for a few days waiting for a break in the weather which didn’t seem to be on the cards. However, I ignored the BBC forecast and used my own meteorological skills to chance that the storm clouds would part and a bit of gorgeous evening light would fall on York this evening. Architecture photography is a challenge I always enjoy, it’s all about looking for angles and images that will show the character of the building be it new or old. So, after wolfing down tea, I set off for to York University heading for the new Langwith  Campus. The sun was out as I arrived but quickly disappeared as I began shooting the images but then, just as I thought it was all over, the sky went black and the sun came out – gorgeous light to shoot in :¬)

Wakefield glamour photographer: Becky

Had another busy day again today starting off in the studio with a return visit by Becky to get some more images for her portfolio. We shot mostly on the white corner set that I made a few weeks ago and then finished off on the spiral stairs and in the lounge area of the studio. I really do like the white corner though and with a bit of clever lighting, I can change the colour from white to purple :¬) We did five sets of lingerie before changing into the Daisy Dukes look to finish with.

Manchester wedding photographer: Jasmine & Scott

I had my Manchester wedding photographer hat on again today as I headed over to Worsley for a pre-wedding meeting with Scott & Jasmine. Jasmine noticed the images on Facebook of fellow school friends Katrina & Lee whose wedding I did last year over at Worsley and decided to come and have a chat about shooting the wedding of her and Scott when they get married later this year. After seeing some of my work they kindly decided to book me for their wedding blessing in August this year. The couple are getting married in Greece but will be coming back to the UK and having a blessing and reception for all the folks who couldn’t make it out to sunny Santorini for the wedding. I just hope, however, they bring back some of that Greek sunshine and that we don’t get the drizzle and wind that we had today, although it did ease off enough for the shoot and Freddie, the Jack Russell, didn’t seem to mind the wet conditions too much.

Wedding photographer Nostell: Melissa & Ian

It’s only a couple of weeks to go now before Ian and Melissa marry at Wragby church followed by a reception at  Nostell Priory so today, I caught up with them for a pre-wedding meeting at Conisborough Castle. As always at the pre-wedding meetings, we do a bit of an engagement shoot as well as go through the details of the big day. The shoots are designed to create a bit of a ‘get to know you’ session so that on the wedding day, we are all comfortable with each other which makes the photography flow :¬) However, the forecast of drizzle and strong winds for once was accurate and on the exposed hill top battlements above Melissa and Ian’s home town of Conisborough, we took a battering  from the elements. Heading into the famous Norman keep was no better because the weather must have been the same in the 11thC as they hardly put a window in the keep and we needed night vision equipment to shoot in there! From the top of the high tower the views were spectacular but the wind was even stronger and Melissa’s lovely summer dress was no match for that! ;¬)  Here’s a few images from the shoot and I am hoping for better conditions on their big day.

Wakefield Commercial Photographer: The Ridings

Having seen some of the work I’ve done for Unique Wakefield, The Ridings Centre booked me to shoot some images in the same style for use in an advertising campaign. The brief was to shoot some specific shop frontages and also capture the essence of the shopping mall. Fortunately it was a lovely sunny day today when I did the shots which give a really nice bright summer feel to the images. Again, I’ve presented the images as a montage as I think these work really well in getting over the feel of a place in one visual image.
