Marstons shoot: The Ruddy Duck Pub

Being a big fan of real ale, it was great to get a commission from new clients Marstons to shoot their new pub in Wakefield, The Ruddy Duck. The brief was to shoot the pub for the website getting images of the exterior, interior both with and without people and to also, where possible, to shoot customers enjoying the food and drink. Capturing shots of the bar staff serving fine ales was also a prerequisite and also shots of the manager and the Lady Mayoress opening the pub. Here is a montage with a few of the shots I got on the day. No beer was consumed during the making of these images :¬(

Pre-wedding shoot with Scott and Joanne

I’ll be shooting Scott and Joanne’s wedding just after Christmas and so today we’d planned a meet up to run through the details of the big day. However, the weather closed in and the winter sunshine rapidly gave way to low light, thick mist and drizzle and I found myself struggling to see the wedding couple in the viewfinder! We soldiered on though and despite the venue we were at being closed to the public, we managed to shoot a few frames in front of the impressive stable block at Wentworth. Think I’m going to have to invest in a head torch just in case it’s like this on December 29th :¬o

Glamour shoot for Rachel

Another glamour shoot but this time shot in the studio. Rachel wanted some shots on the plain infinity curves as well as on location so the studio gives me the option of shooting both but my favourite spot in the studio is the large bathroom and we made good use of that. Again, just a few shots in a composite to give a flavour as I am so busy getting wedding albums to the printers before the Christmas cut-off date!

Glamour shoot for Louise

‘Tis the season to get sexy tra la la la la, la la la la’……

Got a few Christmas calendar shoots booked over the next couple of weeks for girls wanting to give a special and unique gift to the partners this season. Louise contacted me earlier in the year and today we met up for a glamorous underwear shoot to get some images for a 2013 calendar. I used one of my favourite locations and shot in two different apartments to give us a variety of looks to choose the final 15 images from – that’s on for each month, plus January 2014 and cover just in case you’re wondering :¬) Just a small selection as I am so busy with preparing albums and prints for Christmas.

Wakefield commercial photographer: WPR Agency shoot

Midlands based PR agent, WPR, contacted me and commissioned me for a shoot at the Wakefield offices of nationwide plumbing wholesale merchants, F&P Wholesale. The brief was to shoot a few corporate headshots and then to take candid shots of the three guys having a discussion, presumably about plumbing, but in order not to distract them with my flashes, we decided to have a mock debate ahead of the real thing. So, while various football teams were mentioned and an in depth discussion of the new James Bond film got under way, I shot away with a portrait lens and used a couple of speedlights to provide light. As always, I kept the lighting simple, no point getting complicated when you’re on a time limit (and on your own) so just a key light and kicker were used for all the shots. For some reason, I couldn’t help feeling I was photographing a certain LibDem leader though :¬)
