Wakefield boudoir photographer: Ava Lou

Ava Lou contacted me about a boudoir shoot and wanted to call by the studio for a chat. The reason she wanted to see some work and look at the set-up at my studio was that she’d had a boudoir shoot last year just after her 18th birthday by a well known Barnsley studio. However, the price and, more importantly, the poor quality of lighting has made her reluctant to go back again so Ava decided to look for somewhere new for her second boudoir shoot and ended up at my studio. Ava came along with her mum and I suggested bringing along an outfit in case she wanted to try a quick test shoot, I can easily do a quick shoot on one of the permanent studio sets. In the end, that’s what happened; Ava liked what she saw and we gave her a try. I used hot lights for the shoot and used the bedroom set and here’s what I came up with. Needless to say, Ava and her mum agreed the images, even just seen on the back of the camera, were way better quality than the previous shoot! She’s now booked in for a full shoot in a few weeks!

Wakefield fashion photographer: Latex dresses shoot

Leone was back in the studio today with a couple of latex dresses to shoot for the designer. We had full hair and make-up team in for the shoot which always drags things out a bit – make-up artists exist in a different time continuum to the rest of us :¬) However, their end results were great and make a difference the amount of post processing required. Leone also brought a neck corset along to enhance the outfits and the shoot went off well. Latex shoots are slightly more difficult than a normal shoot as the lighting has to show the shone on the latex without overpowering it. The red dress was not too bad, but the black dress took a bit more lighting effort. Here are some of the results from the shoot :¬)

Wakefield Glamour photographer: Rebecca

I photographed Rebecca on location in Huddersfield a couple of weeks back as part of a fashion & glamour portfolio for her 18th birthday as we weren’t able to use my studio due to a whole raft of works going on. The shoot in Huddersfield was good but we were limited to a short time frame so today, Rebecca came over to the studio to finish of the shoot with some fashion shots on the infinity curves and a bit more glamour in the bedroom set at the studio. Splitting the shoot into two parts worked quite well actually as Rebecca was much more relaxed second time around and was much more confident in moving for the camera. We ended up with a great set of images, totally different from the last session so I think she’s going to have a hard tome choosing the images she wants!

Wakefield commercial photographer: Chinese delegation

A quick call from WMDC today to see if I could photograph spme Chinese business delegates who were in the Wakefield on a cultural and business exchange visit. The brief was to tale a formal photo of Counciller Denise Jefferies presenting the delegates with a small gidt and then to photograph the invited local businessmen with the delegates prior to the evening meal at the Creative Cafe at Wakefield One. It was more of a press style photoshoot as much as anything and once the formal shot was in the bag, I just used a 200mm wide open to capture the guests.

Wakefield family portrait photographer

Terry is a roofer from Glossop and was over in Wakefield doing some repointing work on the building where my studio is based and we got talking about the studio. Terry expressed an interest in coming over for a family shoot with his partner sarah and the two boys so we fixed uo a date and the rest is history. Terry and the gang were over tonight for the shoot which we kept simple and just shot on a white infinity sweep. Here’s a selection from the shoot.

Wakefield glamour & boudoir photographer: Danielle

Danielle came to the studio a few weeks ago for a chat and to see what I had to offer and on that occasion, we ended up doing a quick single set in the bathroom. The test shoot fired Danielle up so much she;s been desperate to come back and so here she is. The change in Danielle was amazing – so much more confidence in herself than at the test shoot. Its usually the way it works, first time at the shoot or early in the shoot the nerves show but second time around or the longer the shoot progresses and the girls see the incredible quality of the images, they begin to see just how good they look, then the images just flow.

This time Danielle wanted to do some funky glamour shots using bikinis, Ts and French knickers but wearing a beany hat for that boyish edge to the shots. We used a couple of different backgrounds and outfits for this before moving on to the lingerie and boudoir styles. I used tungsten lighting for these shots, real Hollywood movie lights rather than flash (or sometimes I used a mixture) just to give me that classic look for the boudoir shots on the bed. For the shots in front of the French doors, I used the tungsten lights to create the effect of warm evening light spilling through the doors. Danielle looked amazing and was very relaxed shooting in a couple of outfits and creating some really nice sensual feminine images.
