Wakefield fashion photographer: Alex came to my studio from her base in Birmingham a couple of years ago to shoot her first ever portfolio and we got some awesome images that day. Since then Alex has gone on to model widely all over the country and particularly in London. Recently, while on assignment in Manchester for a few days, Alex contacted me to see if she could come over to work with me again and of course I said yes :¬) We just had a couple of hours in the studio shooting some fashion and lingerie glamour using a variety of sets. This is just a small selection from the shoot.

To book me as your Wakefield glamour photographer, just call the studio on 01924 229800. We will create you an mazing portfolio of images.

So, two years after booking me as their Allerton Castle wedding photographer, Julie and Shaun’s big day finally arrived. I met up with the groom and the ushers around midday for the shoot in the grounds of this imposing wedding venue, but the outdoors shoot was cut short by the arrival of the bride. We dashed indoors to the billiards room where we completed the men’s shoot and left Shaun and the gang having a beer while we headed off to meet Julie. There wasn’t a great deal of time to do bridal prep shots but everything went to schedule until we hit a snag tying the bow at the back of the dress. I mean, how hard is it to tie a bow? Joking: It had to be perfect, not just any old blokey bow that I would have tied :¬) We soon got that fixed and moved onto the bridal shots and then off to the ceremony itself. The sunshine gave way to black storm clouds and heavy rain just as Julie made her entrance and the great hall at Allerton, went as black as night – very romantic but a headache to shoot in!

Following the register signing, we had just set up some lights to shoot indoors when the clouds parted and the sun reappeared allowing us to quickly muster everyone outside for some group shots but all the while, the sky got darker and darker. However, it’s hard to beat a thunder  sky and sunshine for wedding photos! It was a race against the weather though, and as we walked around the castle grounds, the raindrops began falling. We managed to get to the shelter of the main archway for a few shots before heading inside for the line-up and the wedding breakfast. Allerton Castle weddings are run by Dine and I have to say Lindsey was very helpful to us, the food was superb and of course the venue is outstanding!

Just after the first dance the evening sky cleared and the setting sun produced some magic light so we managed to grab Shaun and Julie and headed out into the grounds for some late evening shots. Awesome!

What a difference a week makes! Last week’s Bagden Hall wedding photography we needed wellies and brollies and for this week’s Waterton Park wedding photography we needed factor 50 sunblock! Boy, was it hot! At least 30dg and no respite from the sun but it didn’t stop us getting some fabulous wedding photos in the grounds of the old hall. After the wedding breakfast and as the glare of the midday sun gave way to warm evening sunlight, we did some lovely shots on the lakeside against a stunning summer sky. Stacey and Neale are heading off to Florida to honeymoon so here are a few images for them to see before the go. At least they got a taste of the Florida sunshine in Wakefield today!

Aimee booked in for a portfolio update today to boost her glamour shots and also do some fashion images too. We began by using the white corner before moving through the various sets in the studio and, of course, making use of the beautiful summer sunshine we’re having of late. I love the outdoor shots and the shots taken indoors but with the large patio doors open to the outside, all very summery and bright. Here are a few that Aimee has kindly allowed me to share with you.

To book me for your portfolio shoot just call the studio on 01924 229800 to chat about your requirements

Bagden Hall wedding photography: Haley & David

Bagden Hall wedding photography | Bagden Hall wedding photographer

WET, WET, WET! No, not the 80s group but the weather today for my Bagden Hall wedding photography with Haley and David! I have to say it’s the first wet wedding I’ve had in years and it never stopped all day until the wedding moved indoors for the wedding breakfast at which moment the sun came out. As the speeches finished and the applause died down, the heavens opened again preventing us getting out in some evening sun! However, it did ease off a touch later on allowing us to finally get a big group shot and a confetti shot before first dance and the fireworks. We also managed a shot of all the guys in kilts too but it’s perhaps best left for private viewing. All I can say is David’s dad might only be small, but we all now know why he has such a deep voice!

The couple were married at  St Michael and All Angels parish church in Thornhill before travelling over to Bagden Hall for the reception. During the register signing, Georgia Harrup (The Voice contestant) and Haley’s brother, Brandon, both performed solo songs for the guests and they were both superb! The guests then all went in a double decker bus which we handily used for some of the wedding photography at Bagden Hall. I also set up some studio style shots in the great hall and entrance hall which I think is a great location anyway but we never made it to the gardens. After the wedding breakfast we did a bit more of the bride and groom, the bridal party with partners and of course I did a photo shoot with local celeb Georgia :¬) As the skies cleared we did get out for a few more shots and the confetti before retiring indoors for first dance, a hog roast and eventually fireworks on the lawn as darkness fell. To say the weather was so grim all day, I was happy with the images and here are just a fraction of what we got :¬)

Allerton Castle wedding photographer: Shaun and Julie

It must be at least two years ago since Shaun and Julie booked me as their Allerton Castle wedding photographer after meeting me at a Nostell Priory wedding fair and now it’s just three weeks to their wedding! Tonight I met up with them on their home patch near Huddersfield for a pre-wedding catch up and photoshoot. We walked through Storthes Hall woods with Seth the spaniel leading the way straining at the lead to get into the cool waters of the stream which, eventually, he did and spent most of the evening there. The open meadow area was super for photos with the evening sunlight filtering through broken cloud and giving a lovely backlighting to the images. The woods were way darker but pleasant and had fewer biting insects than the fields! Here are a few images from the shoot and I am looking forward to the big day at Allerton Castle in early August.
