commercial photographer West Yorkshire: Today I was back on site with Beaumont Legal to shoot some more headshots covering around 30 new staff members and also to shoot some PR images of the directors. The shoot was done at J41 business park where they have recently acquired a new office to house the rapidly expanding workforce. The brief was to shoot the directors outside the office as a group of four and also as individuals and also to create some profile shots of Paul Mason who has been with the firm for 25 years. As well as portraits of Paul, we were to create some images of him in his role as training officer in the large new training suite on the first floor. Here is a few of the images I created for their marketing guys.

modelling portfolio photographer West Yorkshire: Omar was looking to update his portfolio and after searching around, chose to come over to Wakefield for the shoot. We did a whole series of sets from evening wear to underwear, mostly shot on a neutral backdrop for a classic look. We did do a couple of sets in front of the French windows and I created some beautiful evening sunshine to go with the casual gear using a couple of 800w redheads. For the neutral background I used a white sweep and dropped the light off it to give ma a 20% grey which I really like for fashion shoots.

Fashion photographer West Yorkshire: I met Louise at a wedding recently and we got chatting about photography and the next thing you know she is in my studio for a fashion shoot :¬) I know I have a knack for talent spotting and I guess I’d got it right with Louise as soon as she stepped in front of the camera. Louise was very relaxed and knew how to pose with very little direction which makes my job much easier. We only had about an hour and a half in the studio as I’d been busy with boudoir shoots in the morning and Louise had her third driving lesson at teatime. Still, we managed a few different looks and I am sure we will be shooting again soon. Here’s a sample of what we managed.

Pontefract NEW College results day

Wakefield commercial photographer: Today was A level results day and I was commissioned to photograph the star pupils at NEW college again. This time, however, it was more nerve wracking than usual as my daughter was there to get her results, so I was left wondering whether I would be photographing smiles or tears! I needn’t have worried though as she got 4 straight A grades in maths, further maths, English and geography :¬o

Several pupils with high grades had been earmarked for individual portraits to be used in the school prospectus and other brochure work, Each of these had been given a card to fill in and then visit me for an official portrait. This year we were in the new learning and resource centre which was much brighter than the normal drama block location and made life easier. I chose on of the salmon pink walls to use as a backdrop and set up a single speedlight as key light and used daylight from a large window for fill light. The rapidly changing sun gave me a few issues with shadows on the wall but overall, the images came out well I though.

Saltmarshe Hall wedding photography: Lauren & Chris

Lauren and Chris have kindly booked me for their Saltmarshe Hall wedding photography towards the end of September and I’m really looking forward to it. Not only is Saltmarshe Hall a new venue for me but it looks to be pretty spectacular too. If we get an Indian summer, the house and grounds will be spectacular. I’ve met Laura and Chris before when Lauren was chief bridesmaid at her sister Hannah’s wedding at Nostell Priory a couple of years ago, so we already knew each other but tonight’s pre-wedding shoot was a way of getting to know each other more and see how they react to being the centre of attention. Chris is very much into farming and I wanted a shoot in an old farmyard but the weather was looking ominous so we headed to a local village and used some rustic barns on the village main street as a backdrop. This was a good decision as we were rained off after only half an hour and then found the village pub was closed!
