Wakefield portrait photographer: The Renshaws

Wakefield portrait photographer

Today I had my hat on as a Wakefield portrait photographer when I met up with the Renshaws at Bretton Park for a location family photo shoot. I’d met the family previously when I photographed Adam and Laura’s wedding at Wentbridge House a few years ago but today we were out to get a family photo that included the dogs as well. We’d chatted about a couple of venues but the ones we favoured had a no dogs policy and Newmillerdam is undergoing groundworks at the moment so we headed over to the parkland at Bretton. Typically, as we arrived, the weather began to change and, although the dark skies that were gathering were ideal for the shoot, a very strong wind got up ahead of the approaching storm. Wind is always a problem as no matter which we seemed to face, the wind always blows from the wrong direction. We decided to persevere and in the end we came away with some great portraits with most of the family combos under the belt, including some lovely portraits of the dogs,

Wakefield glamour photographer: Sherry Sherbert

Wakefield glamour photographer

If you’re thinking of booking a session with a Wakefield glamour photographer then, like Sherry, look no further. Sherry is a local model with a lot of experience but was really looking to get something a bit more polished for her portfolio. A really good set of images will pay for themselves time and time again and will project your personality and style far better than the bedroom mirror selfies or a set done with an inexperienced photographer in an uninspiring setting. Sherry and I hit it off straight away and I think it shows in the images. We had a good laugh and I felt we  captured some great images. Most of the lighting is simple using just one or two Profoto heads in shoot through brollies or a single Profoto combined with a redhead.

To book me for your glamour shoot, just call the studio on 01924 229800 for a chat,

Wakefield commercial photographer: Ford Mustang Shoot

Wakefield commercial photographerThe RED Agency from London found me while  looking for a Wakefield commercial photographer to undertake a PR shoot for Trust Ford in Castleford. The shoot was to mark the arrival of the new Ford Mustang which is touring the country at the moment to give would be buyers a chance to sit in the car and see exactly what it looks like in the flesh. There are so few in the country just now that the cars are being sent to to each regional garage for just a single day and so Trust Ford, Castleford wanted to capture some images while the car was in their showroom.

The shoot wasn’t particularly straightforward as the car was in the middle of the showroom with all the reflections, distractions and mixture of light temperatures that go along with a typical car showroom. I attempted to overpower ambient a couple of Profoto heads and to use what daylight I could get from the showroom windows as fill. As well as capturing the cars, I did a few PR shots of the head of sales and along with some of his staff.

Nostell Priory Wedding Photographer | wedding at Nostell Priory | wedding photographer Nostell Priory

Nostell wedding photographerOnly two days ago I should have been Josh and Steph’s Nostell Priory wedding photographer but due to an unforeseen circumstance in the form of baby Miles, the wedding date has had to be put back until October! We’d planned to meet for the pre-wedding shoot on the original wedding date but the heavens opened and it was a very wet day so we postponed the shoot till today. Had the wedding gone ahead as planned on the original date, it would have been a very wet affair indeed! The clouds were still grey for today’s pre-wedding meeting but the rain held off and it wasn’t too bad temperature wise so we managed to get in 20minutes or so while Miles dozed off in his pram. In many ways, it could be a better day in October if we get a dry day as the autumn colours will be spectacular by then. To book me as your Nostell Priory wedding photographer, just give me a call on 01924 229800 for a chat.

Wakefield commercial photographer: NEW College results day

Wakefield commercial photographer

As the go to Wakefield commercial photographer for NEW College, I was back on campus today to photograph the students picking up the A level results. Once again the college and the students have been outstanding and there were lots of very happy faces in the room. I was tasked with photographing the press release images which I did outside on the steps in front of the arts block and for the images for the prospectus, I used a salmon pink wall in the learning and resource centre where the students were getting their results. The wall makes a pretty cool backdrop and a couple of Profoto B1 heads into shoot through brollies provided the light.

York wedding photographer | wedding photographer York | Wakefield wedding photographer

York wedding photographer: Gaynor & Bryan

York wedding photographer: Gaynor and Bryan will be getting married at York Registry Office early next month and so today we met up for the pre-wedding shoot and meeting. Following the ceremony at the registry office, we will walk through the city to the restaurant where the wedding breakfast will take place and then, after a short break, they will board a boat for a river cruise into the evening. Should be a great photo opportunity as the couple walk through the busy streets of York on a Saturday afternoon!
