Wakefield wedding photographer: Nick & Roz at Woolley Church

Nick and Roz married today at Woolley Church followed by a reception at The 3 Acres in Emley. Nick and Roz knew my work as a Wakefield wedding photographer from Nick’s brother Simon whose wedding we covered in Florence last year and kindly booked me for their big day. We began with the usual bridal prep photos at their cottage in Woolley from where we could see the church across the fields to the rear of the house. Although we had a rough schedule of timings from the pre-wedding meeting, things began to go awry with the hair and make-up girls living in a totally different time continuum to everyone else and at 12:15 they began to work on the bride. Considering the wedding was at 13:00 this was cutting it fine, especially as they estimated an hour to do their work! In an effort to not lose all the photo opportunities, we headed to the church to shoot Nick and the ushers before returning to the house to chivvy the MUA. Thank heavens the church was so close. Eventually, all preps were done and Roz stepped into the dress and then it was a frantic 20mins of photography of the bride, bridesmaids and Roz’s dad before dashing off to the church somewhat after 1pm!

The weather was fabulous for the whole day and we were able to shoot with the bridal party and the bride and groom at the church, then with Nick and Roz back at their beautiful house before heading up to Emley to join the rest of the guests at the 3 Acres for the wedding breakfast. The evening light was superb and gave us another chance to catch up on any group shots we’d missed due to the wedding ceremony running late. I have loads of images I’d love to post from the wedding but here are just a few to give a flavour of a wonderful English summer wedding.

Wakefield PR photographer: Yorkshire Air Ambulance & Redbrick Mills

Pivot PR were looking for a Wakefield PR photographer to do a promo shoot for their client Yorkshire Air Ambulance at Redbrick Mill in Batley. The brief was to shoot Kerry Garner, the Regional Fundraising Manager, along with YAA paramedic Lee Greenwood who were at Redbrick Mill to launch a fundraising partnership with the sales outlet who have made the YAA their nominated charity.  I decided I needed to get the mill in the shot as it’s a fairly iconic local landmark and also has Redbrick branding so I used an ultra wide from a low angle to capture the shot. The trick with PR photography is to move quickly and think fast in order to deliver a small but varied selection of images for the client. Shooting both vertical and horizontal images and using negative space also allows the designers a greater degree of flexibility when they are laying out copy. With this in mind, I moved the group across the car park to a vantage point where I could use a telephoto lens to get some compression into the shot to give a different perspective to that of the wide angle. I supplied around 15 different images in three locations and executed the whole shoot in under 20mins. This means everyone is happy and waiting times kept to a minimum for those in the photos.

Here’s a couple of images from the shoot.

Wakefield commercial photographer: EP Risk web and brochure shoot

EP Risk were looking to commission a commercial photographer to shoot some new images for their brochure and website revamp when they came across my Wakefield commercial photographer website. After chatting about their requirements, we booked a date in the diary and today I was over at their offices for the shoot. EP Risk specialise in running health and safety training courses, first aid training and advising on all aspects of health and safety in the workplace. The brief was to illustrate the capacity of their training room, show the trainers in action and also get some headshots of the key personnel.

I’ve dropped in a few images from the shoot to give a flavour of the style of images we shot on the day and if you are looking to have some creative, quality images for your website, just give me a call on 01924 229800 for a chat.

Wakefield portrait photographer: Hannah and her grandparents

Maria and Paul’s friends decided to give them a gift certificate for a family portrait with a local Wakefield portrait photographer and they kindly chose me for the shoot. I sent the gift certificate earlier in the year but, due to various logistical problems with the family being in different areas of the country, the planned big family shoot never materialised. However, unlike some photographers, there is no time limit on my gift certificates and I was prepared to wait until it suited everyone involved but in the end, Paul and Maria came in with local grandchild Hannah. We only managed around 45minutes before Hannah decided she’d had enough but it was enough time to get some lovely keepsake images. The gift certificate included one of my fabulous wall art ‘canvas’ prints – not really a canvas, way better quality than that but best described as such. Here are just a few sample images from the shoot.

Wakefield product photographer: Liberty Trading

Liberty Trading were searching for a Wakefield product photographer when they found my website and decided to call me to discuss a possible shoot for them. They needed around 120 products photographing on a plain white background for their online shop and the products were a wide variety of goods from cuddly toys to insects encased in resin! After discussing the brief, they dropped of a van load of goods at the studio in Durkar and I set about the task of photographing them all. Some were easier to do than others but in the end, I got them all done and presented them as requested as square images on a white background. Here are just a few images from the shoot to give a flavour of the final shots.

To book me as your Wakefield product photographer, just call the studio on 01924 229800 to discuss your requirements. High quality images will definitely increase your sales potential!

Nostell Priory Wedding photographer | Wakefield wedding photographer | weddings Nostell Priory

Nostell Priory wedding photographer: Alice and Richard

Just back from Cyprus and straight into the swing of things again as a Nostell Priory wedding photographer for Alice and Richard’s big day! We met up with Alice and the girls at her home in Hillam where we captured some of the behind the scenes and bridal preps before shooting bridal portraits, the bridesmaids and, of course, the bride with her dad. From here we headed over to Nostell Priory to catch up with Richard for a few shots of him with the best man and ushers before the registrars hauled him off for questioning :¬) The sunny weather had brought out the crowds and it was quite busy around the house with members of the public, but we managed to avoid them or clear them off as the bride arrived in a super wedding car. Unfortunately, as we came out from the ceremony, the heavens opened and we were hot with a short sharp shower which had been forecasted for later in the day. However, it had the bonus of clearing the public away and we still managed a few shots under brollies and under the shelter of the parkland trees.

By the time we caught up with the guests in the rose garden, the rain had eased and we managed the family group shots using the trees as shelter from the drizzle, but then it cleared all together allowing us to get the bridal party outside. We finished the shoot with just the bride and groom before heading indoors for the wedding breakfast and speeches. As always, we managed a bit more photography before the cake cut and first dance and the start of the real party. Here are just a few images taken on the day.
