Wakefield commercial photographe: Crigglestone MOT centre

Wakefield commercial photographer: Photography for Crigglestone MOT centre

I’ve been taking all our family cars to Crigglestone MOT centre for years so Gaynor, Gibert and Mark all know that I am a Wakefield commercial photographer so, when they were recently looking for some new images for the new website, they kindly contacted me. I was up at the garage early morning before the day’s influx of vehicles and I took some interior shots of the very tidy workshop followed by headshots of the majority of the staff. A few generic shots outside and a group shot in front of the garage before moving on to reception. The new website will focus on the great value and friendly service as well as emphasising that the garage is female friendly. Having been a client for many years, I can vouch that you will never be suped, never have work done on your car that didn’t need to be done and you’ll always be pleasantly suprised at how low the repair bills are. Crigglestone MOT centre is now featured on the Foxy Lady website, so any female drivers can be sure they will be treated fairly and courteously too! Highly recommended.

Commercial photographer: Chapelfields Shopping Mall, Norwich

Commercial photographer: Christmas lights at Chapelfields, Norwich

My work as a commercial photographer brought me to Chaplefields shopping mall in Norwich today to capture the Christmas lights installation for Fizzco. This was a new site for Fizzco, a Lincolnshire based lighting firm that installs the huge festive displays in malls up and down the country. Each year I photograph some of the new sites for promotional purposes for Fizzco and it’s always an enjoyable commission. Capturing the lights inside the mall is much more difficult due to the presence of the fluorescent and halogen lighting which is prevelant in the malls, but the centre frontage was a great subject to photograph. As always, I was there in time for the blue hour for the external images before heading inside after dark.

Wakefield Commercial Photographer: Yorkshire Air Ambulance

Wakefield Commercial Photographer: PR Shoot for Yorkshire Air Ambulance

I headed over to the helipad at Nostell today to shoot a quick press and PR set for Yorkshire Air Ambulance who were being shown the new Viamaster truck with the YAA logo emblazened on the side. Viamaster, a Castleford based haulage company, had donated the side of one of their trucks to have the air ambulance logo and contact details on which is great advertising as the trucks head up and down the roads fo Britain. However, the weather wasn’t playing ball and it was utterly pouring it down when we did the shoot! The idea was to have some shots of the poaramedics and air crew in front of the lorry along with representatives from Viamaster. We did manage a few images but it really was monsoon weather! Here’s coupld of shots of the paramedics with the helicopter and the Viamaster truck.PR photographer Wakefield

Wakefield Commercial Photographer: Fizzco Christmas Lights Install

Wakefield commercial photographer: Corn Exchange Christmas lights install

Although it’s only the beginning of November, Christmas comes early to the guys from Fizzco as they begin the huge task of installing their amazing Christmas lights in shopping malls up and down the country. I joined Fizzco as they began installing lights in the fabulous Corn Exchange in Leeds this evening with the brief of documenting the install and the amount of work that goes in to creating these fabulous displays. Tonight was just about the install and in a week or so, I will be back on site to photograph the lights once they have had the official switch on along with a few other new locations around the country.

Wakefield Commercial Photographer: Stroke Association at Xscape

Wakefield commercial photographer shooting for The Stroke Association

Today I was at Snow Zone over at teh Xscape leisure centre in Castleford where my brief was to shoot some press/pr images on behalf of The Stroke Association. The shoot was to illustrate how life is still possible after a stroke and that there are many activities that stroke victims may still be able to partake in with a little help from The Stroke Association. Carl had unfortunately had a stroke in his early thirties but has always dreamed of taking up skiiing again and now, some years later, he is participating in a programme aimed to get him back on the snow slopes but this time on a sled rather than skis. I was there to photograh Carl’s first lesson with an insturctor and covering the introduction of the equipment, the saftey checks while on the slopes and then, of course, his first run down the slope in the sled. At this time, Carl needs accompanying but eventually he should be able to use the slopes unaided. I wihs him all the best in his hobby.

Wakefield Commercial photographer: Van Leurwen, Netherlands

My job as a Wakefield commercial photographer brings me into contact with a variety of clients and today, I was working for the Dutch engineering firm Van Leurwen. Van Leurwen are manufacturers of large steel pipes used widely in industrial projects. One of their main clients is Wakefield based CEM Engineering who take the raw pipes from Van Leurwen and machine them into precision pieces for use in power stations etc. My brief was to photogrqph the head of CEM Engineering in Horbury to accompnay a piece about them in an international magazine that covers the engineering industry. The gfcatory interior was light with the usual fluorescent lights which I decided to try and overpower with three speedlights. I used a key light in a small Octa and supplemented it with a kicker gelled with a CTB and to light the baqckground, I dropped a speedlight inside one of the lathes and gelled it red. Then it was just a case of coming up wih a variety of compositions to give the designers something to play with in the layout of the magazine. I created a series of wide images and some more traditional three-quarter upright portriats. Here’s just a sample.
