Ellen & Paul at Wentbridge House Hotel

What another fabulous sunny April day for a wedding! This time it was Ellen & Paul’s turn to tie the knot at Wentbridge House Hotel and celebrate the day with their family and friends. The grounds were looking pretty spectacular in the spring sunshine and all the trees have really leafed out since I was there a few weeks ago for Paul and Louise’s wedding, so we had plenty of open shade for group photos without squinting. After the family formals, we set about having a bit of fun with the bridal party before ending up with some really cool intimate shots of Ellen and Paul and also trying to include their little boy, Ted – easier said then done :¬) The evening light after the wedding breakfast was just gorgeous so a second shoot was definitely in order with friends and collegues before the final few of the bride and groom. Then, as the sun set and the evening temperatures went down a notch, we headed indoors for the dancing and partying to the sounds of The Funtime Frankies.

Zara & Adam at Cedar Court – sneak preview

Another glorious sunny April wedding day, this time at Cedar Court Wakefield with Zara and Adam. As with Ged and Nicole at Grinkle on Friday, I’m just putting up a few sneak preview images and the complete blog update will be later today or tomorrow as I think I’m going to take today off to chill out and cut the grass! Check back later for more pictures, but for now………………

Ged & Nicole at Grinkle Park – the full post!

Although I posted a couple of snaps from Ged & Nicole’s wedding at Grinkle Park, I’ve just got round to sorting out a slideshow so that you can get a flavour of the whole day. I met Ged and Nicole while they were looking around the Black Swan in Helmsley as a possible venue for their wedding: I was busy shooting Rory & Sarah’s wedding but I shoved a card into Nicole’s hand and suggested she looked at my work! That’s how they came to book me and almost 12months later we were at Grinkle Park, their chosen venue.

It was my first shoot at Grinkle Park and, hopefully, not my last – its a great venue for a wedding shoot. The whole day went swimmingly, starting with an impromptu bridal boudoir shoot with Nicole in the fabulous bridal suite and ending up with the couple dancing a foxtrot routine to ‘Brown-eyed Girl’ and it was obvious that Ged is a natural! Although it was very bright, sunny and hot, it didn’t stop us having a great time and, after showering the couple with the densest confetti throw I’ve ever witnessed, the guests enjoyed drinks and canopes on the lawn while we photographed the bride and groom. Here is a slideshow for the non iPhone users that will certainly give a flavour of the day and as Ged is partial to a bit of Metallica, I though I’d use a bit more of a metal soundtrack to the show :¬) Crank up the volume and sit back and for those missing out because of their mobile device, a few static images follow.

To book me for your Grinkle Park wedding call 01924 229800 for a chat. Grinkle is within easy striking distance for me, so don’t be thinking I’m too far away!
