Wakefield event photographer: NEUPC conference
Leeds University again booked me as their event photographer to capture some images at the second NEUPC conference they were holding for procurement delegates from a wide range of businesses and other academic institutions from around the north east. As with the first conference in 2016, the university team were looking to get some images of the day’s proceedings for use in brochures, flyers, websites and other promotional material. My brief was to capture the delegates, chatting, speaking with suppliers and of course, get images of the keynote speaker and the workshops and discussion groups following the morning session. Just to make things a little more difficutl, the venue caused a mix up by double booking another conference and putting them in the same suite as the NEUPC! This meant I had to be aware of which delegates were with which conference and it also meant the NEUPC lost their display space forcing their exhibitors to place stands in narrow and dark passage ways and corridors. This meant things were a little spread out, and very tight whhich meant it was just really difficult to get any kind of off camera flash into the scene, espcecially in the short space of time between lectures. I coped, but it was a much harder gig than last years!
