Danwood PR shoot

Danwood contacted me for a PR shoot at one of their clients’ premises in Leeds where they’d just installed one of their latest print machines at Transprint in Wortley. I’ve done a few shoots for Danwood in the past couple of years, mainly at their Castleford offices shooting headshots of their staff, but today the brief was to photograph their client with the new print machine. To be honest, it looked rather like a large photocopier and it’s location, tucked in the corner of a big print warehouse, meant I knew I had my work cut out to make a decent image! Ideally, I would have liked the Transprint branding in the image but there was no signage at all so I figured the designers would have to work something into the final image. With this in mind I photographed a small section of a Transprint wall planner to give me a logo for later use! I added a strobe dialled down to around 1/64 and CTB’d it to give a nice blue halo to the machine which I thought might make it look a bit more ‘space age’ and then I lit Dave, the owner of Transprint, with a speedlight at around 1/8 through a softbox. Here’s a couple of shots from the session of a variety of folks with the machine including the Danwood salesman and my quick montage to get the branding in :¬)
