Canon Hall Wedding Photographer: Lucy & Peter

Lucy and Peter are getting married next week at Canon Hall so tonight’s pre-wedding meet up was a bit last minute! My fault really, just so busy at the moment. Anyhow, we met at Thornes Park to go through the wedding plans and have a bit of a pre-wedding shoot to get to know each other. If this weather holds out, we should be in for a good time and I certainly don’t want a repeat of the weather we had there this time last year for Joanne and David’s wedding, However, I’d settle for a little cooler than tonight’s shoot!

Nostell Priory Wedding photographer: Nicola & Ben

Two consecutive weddings at Nostell Priory and both absolute scorchers! Again the temperatures were around the 30dg mark with really harsh, hot summer sun but that, in part, was the least of my worries for the wedding of Nicola & Ben!

While we were at the Holiday Inn Express with Nicola and the girls doing the prep shots, Ben was supposed to call with the boys to collect their son, Josh, who was to be pageboy. However, Ben hadn’t taken into account a 10k run in Leeds which really made him late for Josh and in his haste, he forgot to get collect one of the ushers who was with us and waiting for a lift! At least we were able to take the usher to Nostell with us when we set off to photograph the groom. However, we were at Nostell for just after 12noon for a 12:30 wedding but no sign of the groom who’d gone to Waterton Park Hotel to get ready. In their haste to set off from Waterton Park, they went the wrong way and got lost so put the postcode in the satnav to get them to Nostell but instead put in Waterton Park details and went back there by mistake. They eventually made it to Nostell for 12:25pm but then the real bombshell! They’d left the rings in a suitcase at Waterton Park! Someone was despatched to get them while Ben rang Waterton and asked the staff to rifle through the suitcases looking for the rings which they found and were eventually brought back to Nostell at 13:00hrs!! Good job the registrars were free to wait and after a 30minute delay, the wedding went ahead without further a do :¬)

A hot and eventful day but everything turned out swell in the end and we got some lovely summer wedding shots for the album.

Nostell Priory Wedding Photographer: Andy & Suzy

Mama mia! What a scorcher for Andy and Suzy’s wedding at St Peter’s Church, Barmburgh followed by a reception at Nostell Priory. It was just such a perfect day for their wedding which began with the preps at Suzy’s family home in the picturesque South Yorkshire village where their country cottage garden provided us with a gorgeous backdrop for the bridal shoot – I love the image of Suzy in the gateway. The small parish church was packed but even the medieval church interior offered little respite from the heat with guests making the most of the order of service which doubled as a makeshift fan :¬) After the service, the couple headed to Nostell in a fabulous old Rolls Royce which we parked in front of the grand house for a few car shots. Then it was onto the rose garden at the back of the riding school for drinks and canapés and the wedding shoot. My goodness, that south facing garden really does catch the sun! At least I was just in a flimsy shirt while Andy and the rest of the guys were in heavy morning suits complete with waistcoats! Still, the gardens were looking great and they were ideal for the shots of Andy and Suzy while the guests tried to hide under the shade of an oak tree and listen to the string quartet that were playing there. This really was a hot summer wedding but I think we got some really super images. I have to do it all over again tomorrow at Nostell when I meet up with Nicola and Ben for their wedding in what looks like the same hot conditions!

Kings Croft Wedding Photographer: Linda & Martin

Linda & Martin are getting married later this month at Kings Croft Hotel in Pontefract, so it was high time we had a meet up to discuss the wedding day. As usual, I also took the opportunity of a quick pre-wedding photo shoot to get Linda and Martin used to being photographed – it’s a great way of getting to know each other so that we are all friends on the big day. We met on a very warm summer evening in Tolson museum gardens on the outskirts of Huddersfield and used most of the grounds for the shoot. This current hot spell is killing me and it looks set to be around 30dg for tomorrow’s wedding at Nostell but that will be another post! In the meantime, here is a selection from tonight.

Wakefield Fashion Photographer: Charlotte

I met Charlotte while shooting Options Hair Salon for Unique Wakefield but it was a friend and fellow photographer who asked if she could bring Charlotte to the studio to have a go at photographing her with me helping out. Given the glorious weather, I decided that we should shoot an evening location fashion shoot and I had in mind soft summer evening light, poppy fields and gypsy clothing and so that’s what we arranged. Unfortunately, the three of us met up tonight on the only cloudy day in the forecast for all this week! We’d committed to the day and Jan and Charlotte were keen to shoot so we met at the studio instead and just did a bit of a fashion and beauty shoot. I love Charlotte’s hair and I think the outdoor shots would have been awesome, so hopefully, we will reschedule this for next week.

Wakefield Fashion Photographer: Rebecca

Rebecca was back in the studio today for another shoot to add to her portfolio. Having finished college for the summer and Uni doesn’t start till the end of September, Rebecca has a bit of time to concentrate on her part time modelling career. We shot fashion and some glamour today and got some really superb images. Rebecca’s confidence is growing with each shoot and as a result the images get better. Here are just a few from the shoot as I have another shoot today and a heck of a lot of edits to catch up with!
