Prom photographer Yorkshire: Crofton School Prom 2014

Prom photographer Yorkshire: It was a balmy summer evening at Kings Croft Hotel making for perfect conditions for the arrival of the prom goers at the 2014 Crofton Academy Prom. Stretch limousines, sports cars and even the A Team van pulled up one after the other dropping off the kids in their prom finery and, of course, I was on hand as the official photographer to create some striking portraits for the parents and grandparents. I lit them against black with a classic but simple lighting set up and directed them through some fashion poses to try and avoid the traditional formal stuff and here are just a few from the night. Watch out for a ‘love the prom dress’ shoot coming up soon as I spotted a new muse amongst the prom girls :¬)

Cracoe Village Hall wedding: Clare & Jeff

Here are a few images from Clare and Jeff’s Cracoe Village Hall wedding reception in the Dales. Thankfully the weather held for us as I was desperate to make sure we had the hood down on the MGB for the photos and. although it was a bit overcast, we were able to get the car just how it should be – open top. The couple were married at Skipton registry office and then the whole entourage headed up into the Dales to Cracoe village hall for a fabulous country wedding reception complete with Pimm’s and a gourmet BBQ – the steak was awesome! Despite being a guest at the wedding (Clare is my niece) we were able to do the photoshoot and enjoy the day too. it felt more relaxed than a normal wedding though still a lot of hard work until I could put the camera away just after the first dance. There’s a slideshow following the photos so turn up the speakers and sit back and watch the day unfold :¬)

wedding photographer Wentbridge House: Sharon & Steve

Wedding  photographer Wentbridge House: I first met Sharon a few years ago when I had just turned professional as a photographer and she came to my studio with her son Harley, Since then I have seen her regularly in the next village to me and also at one or two weddings where she had been a guest. It was at one of these weddings I also met her new fiancée Steve and now here we are, a couple of years later and I find myself photographing their wedding.

Sharon got ready at her home in Normanton and I met her there, along with sister Samantha (whose also been to my studio)  for the prep shots and the bridal portraits before heading over to Wentbridge House to meet up with Steve and the best man. The weather was pretty grim with heavy overnight rain which had given way to constant drizzle and the forecast was for rain for most of the day. I was pretty amazed, therefore, to find we got a break in the weather from my meeting up with the groom until we went in for the wedding breakfast, at which point the heavens opened and we had torrential rain for the rest of the day! Although it was grim, we managed to get out for a few photos which makes all the difference to the day. Here is a sample from what could have been a really wet wedding but in the end, turned out fine.

School prom photographer: Royds School

If you are looking for a school prom photographer to cover your school prom event then have a look at the images I shot for Royds School Prom 2014. This is the fourth year I have been the event photographer at their school prom and I enjoyed it just as much as the others. The kids are really great and well behaved and we had a fun time with the camera. I’m still amazed at how old some of these kids look considering they are only 16, I am sure my generation never looked that old when we were their age :¬o

School Prospectus photography: NEW College

Back at NEW College, Pontefract today for part two of the school prospectus photography, mopping up the classes we didn’t get done last week. The school was quite full today and with lots of pupils in class the shoot went through pretty quickly. July can be a bit tricky as most of the year 13 pupils have gone or are in exams but today, most of year 12 were in classes. Here are a few more images from this year’s school shoot.

Rogerthorpe Manor wedding photographer

Rogerthorpe Manor wedding photographer: Today I was with Alex and Craig for their wedding at Rogerthorpe Manor near Pontefract and the weather was just perfect with high cloud and soft light. The morning began very sunny and bright, often not great conditions for photographing anything, never mind weddings, but by the time their ceremony had finished the cloud cover was just about spot on. Alex got ready at Rogerthorpe but we didn’t have the bridal suite due to it still being occupied from the previous day’s wedding but we made the best of the room for some bridals before heading out to meet up with Craig and the boys. Following the confetti and canapés we worked our way around the lovely grounds before heading in for the wedding breakfast. The purple chocolate fountain was certainly an eye catcher and set the scene ahead of the first dance. The couple are honeymooning in Florida with their son Dylan.
