A shoot for The Wilkes Group today gave me a break from preparing wedding albums. The brief was to photograph a new brand of coffee that the vending division of the company will be promoting in their drinks vending machines. The images are to go in a small brochure advertising the new brand. Along with the coffee, Wilkes are rebranding some of the machines, giving them a slik new paint job in the livery of Cafe Carrica. Arriba!
Sonya came down to the studio this evening for a portfolio shoot and was a natural! Incredibly, this was her first time posing for the camera apart from while out clubbing with her mates! Sonya’s recovering from a serious illness, so the portfolio shoot was aimed at giving her a much needed lift and I’m sure we did that judging by these pics. I’ll bet this won’t be the last we’ll be seeing of Sonya. Enjoy!
Following on from the e-session on Monday, I met up with Victoria and Craig to shoot their big day for real on what looked to be a gloomy day. However, I needn’t have worried as my run of 2009 glorious wedding weather luck continued and it came out blazing in the afternoon! After getting ready at The Cedar Court Hotel, Wakefield, the couple were married at Wakefield registry office (3 boo’s for the jobsworth assitant registrar!) and then had their reception with family and friends at the family owned Station Hotel, Crigglestone.
En route to the venue, we detoured to Thorne’s Park, Wakefield where we had a good shoot with the bride and groom and the bridesmaids. Down at the Station, Craig’s dad and Dale the landlord had done a great job in setting up the hotel in Victoria’s favourite colour – pink – and the guests were able to enjoy drinks outside in the warm September sun.
I’d like to welcome on board another new client, this time LloydRoberts PR, a London based PR company that have commissioned me to shoot the launch of the first franchise north of the M25 corridor of 0800Handyman. Julian Henthorn has just taken delivery of his new van and is about to embark on his new venture as Wakefield’s Mr Fixit. Becky Roberts supplied me with a brief and off I went to meet Julian at his home in Stanley where we took these shots for the press launch.
Jo came down to the newly refurbished studio last night for a portfolio shoot. We covered fashion and lingerie, mainly working on dark backgrounds for this session. Originally a size 18, Jo is now a size 8! So why not have a portfolio shoot done?!!
I met up with Craig and Victoria this evening ahead of their wedding on Friday to run through the planning and finalise the timings and then afterwards, we had a brief pre-wedding shoot. Its really amazing how quick the nights are drawing in and we were shooting in some really low light conditions, but it was enough to get the pair used to being the focus of attention.
