Excite spring clothes shoot

Another shoot with Excite today as they’re really ramping up the stock for the website launch which should be any day now – the final checks by Worldpay on the SSL sockets for the e-commerce side of things are being undertaken – then it’s all systems go! I’m getting lots of enquiries from folks eager to browse te stock, so I’m looking forward to it going live! We used a new model, Sarah from Manchester, for the shoot and I thought she suited the clothes perfectly; we also did some of the shots of the clothes without the model so that Excite can display mock-ups of the outfits worn by some of the A-list celebs. I’ve never tried shooting these mannequin type images before and had to ponder on how to get the ‘inside’ shots of the garments, but we managed in the end. Here are just a few shots from the day as we are back in the studio on Friday with Excite for more stock shots!

Georgie’s 14th birthday fashion shoot

Georgie came to the studio for a fashion shoot as a present for her 14th birthday and brought a couple of friends, Lauren and Amy, along too. The girls were a little nervous at first but soon got into the swing of it and had a great time. Here are a few shots from the session and I’m sure we got them some new Facebook profile pics :¬) To book your birthday portfolio shoot, just call the studio on 01924 229800 – it’s a great way to get a lasting reminder of your big day.

Excite Clothing shoot

Excite were back in the studio today with plus size model Amy. The shoot was to mop up on a few new items in the plus size range before the launch of the Excite website this week. They gave a whole raft of new stuff arriving so it looks like I’ll be shooting for them in a few days time too.

Trinity Walk Rhubarb festival

Straight from this morning’s shoot with John & Debbie, I headed off to Trinity Walk shopping mall to record some of the activities that were running as part of the Wakefield rhubarb festival. My brief was to capture the street performers and the guys handing out the balloons, as well as a few specific shots of shop fronts. The place was packed which is great for this kind of work as the photos are used by marketing specialists to attract new businesses to the mall.

Debbie, John and Thomas in the studio

It’s a couple of years ago since I did John and Debbie’s wedding at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park though I did meet them again last year at John’s brother’s wedding at Comlongon Castle in Scotland but today they were in the studio with Thomas for a family shoot. I have to say it didn’t go as smoothly as planned with Thomas being full of cold and just too keen to explore the studio and it definitely resulted in fewer images so I think we’re going to reschedule and shoot on location where Thomas can burn off his energy and I can shoot more freely. We did fall about laughing though when Thomas tried to drink the soapy bubble mixture and learned the hard way that it’s not pleasant!

Guibert Millinary at MODA

Today I was at MODA, a trade fashion show at the NEC, to shoot some promo shots for Guibert Millinary. MODA is a huge show with some really big names exhibiting there and I did my best to network and raise my profile a bit but I’m really not the world’s best when it comes to pushing my own talents :¬(  We’ll see over the coming months if it paid off! Lystra looked magnificent in the Guibert hat that she wore to Aintree races when she picked up the award for best dressed lady at Aintree, scooping £5000 spending money and a holiday for two in St Lucia – look out for her on the Aintree adverts that are currently running on TV. Here are a couple of snaps from the show, all taken covertly due to photographic restrictions! Note the magazine on the chair depicting a certain famous lady sporting one of the Guibert hats!
