While looking for a York commercial photographer to shoot some PR images for his new business venture, David was given my name by another of my clients. A good deal of my work comes from recommendations which is very flattering and so, after discussing on the phone, I met David and the team at The York Marriatt Hotel for the shoot. The shoot was to get some PR images for The Divorce Hotel, a company that aims to provide a quick and, hopefully, aimicable divirce based in hotels around the country. Later that day, the local TV stations were due to come to interview and gather material for the regional news programmes so I had just a short session before evrything kicked off. I had to photograph the three directors in a hotel setting but without getting any branding in the shots in order to give them a generic hotel look and feel. I used the brasserie for most of the shots as I liked the rich colours and ambient light it offered. As usual, I used s single speedlight in a 70cm octa for key light while dragging the shutter to bring in the ambient light.
