They got married in front of a large congregation at South Ossett Christ Church before heading in style in a wonderful old Riley to Hatfield Hall aka Normanton Golf Club, Wakefield. As a photographer I find this is a tight venue for shooting, with wedding guests confined to a very slim margin around the club house and the members are very picky if anyone steps over the line. Even late into the evening, when the course was closed, we were being badly hassled by the management for standing on a gravel path just 3 yards over the ‘boundary’ line so that we could shoot some magazine style bridal portraits in front of the big vista. A bit mean methinks when the bit of grass the club ‘generously’ allow the couple to stand on was water logged after all the recent rain, meaning that anyone not in flat shoes simply sinks to the heels in the ground. If the club is prepared to take good money from a wedding couple, in my opinion they could be a bit more amenable about it all.
Hey! Enough of my grumpy old rants, let’s have a look at some images :¬)
