Hanson Bricks of Maidenhead contacted me again recently to commission me to shoot some more brick related images for their submission to this year’s building design awards. Last year I photographed some buildings in and around Wakefield and York and today I was back in York to shoot the Barratt Homes development ‘Reflections’ in the heart of the York alongside a small canal. On the way home I called in at Selby business park to shoot another set of buildings, the Britcom offices. The weather was particularly good for the shoot with blue skies and white clouds enhanced bu a polarising filter to cut glare and deepen the colours. The Nikkor 24mm f/2.8 PC-E lens is just the ticket for this type of work as it allows me to not only keep the verticals straight, but effectively I can use it to double my sensor size by taking two ‘shifted’ images and stitching them seamlessly in Photoshop. Later this week, weather depending, I will be shooting some more images for Hanson in Sheffield and Rotherham.
