I had great fun as a Falcon Manor wedding photographer today as I met up again with Helen and Tim on their big day. Typically, the weather was nothing like the balmy autumn day we enjoyed yesterday in Wakefield, instead we had rain, strong blustery winds and low temperatures but that didn’t stop us from making some great wedding memories! I met up with Helen and the girls at The Anchor Inn near Gargrave where they were stationed ahead of the wedding and, after capturing a few prep shots, we headed on to St Aiden’s Church at Helifield to catch up with Tim and the boys. Despite the damp weather, we managed the groom shots outside in plenty of time before Helen arrived. On exiting the church and getting ready for the confetti shot, the wind managed to whip off Helen’s veil and attempted to get it into the next county, but luckily it wrapped itself around the videographer’s camera briefly giving him a soft focus effect :¬) With the family formals quickly despatched and the rain setting in, we headed off to Falcon Manor, a new venue for me, to get warm and begin the party. This is an amazing place for a wedding and I enjoyed the challenge of shooting in the dimly lit, yet atmospheric, interior when we arrived. However, there was a break in the weather and the rain eased up for a while (though not the wind) and we managed to get outside for some shots of Helen and Tim before heading in for the wedding breakfast.
